🌟 Why I Created The WoW Culture?

👋🏾 When I arrived in Canada as an immigrant, I faced language barriers, cultural misunderstandings, and moments of self-doubt. 🤔

I remember holding back, afraid of saying the wrong thing, or not feeling understood.

✨ To support others like me, I launched Griottes Polyglottes Scty, a space where immigrants could gain confidence, connect through language confidence, and rediscover their voices. 🎉

💬 As I listened to stories from other immigrants, I realized the struggles weren’t limited to language. 🌏

Many workplaces and communities face challenges around bias, exclusion, and creating real inclusivity.
I wanted to do something that would inspire change and create meaningful connections.

💡 That’s how The WoW Culture was born! It’s a space where people can break barriers, foster inclusivity, and build stronger connections through play, improv, and shared experiences.
Because when people laugh, open up, and step into each other’s shoes, change becomes real and lasting. 💥

💖 For me, this is more than work: it’s a mission to create joy, belonging, and lasting impact for everyone. 🚀🌈

🙋🏽‍♀️And to be truly heart open with you, there’s one more selfish reason...
At the end..., I want to be able to look at myself in the mirror knowing I did my part.
I didn’t stay silent, I took action, for a better world…

Why Improv and Forum Theatre?

And why it works? ✨

When it comes to diversity and inclusion, Improv and Forum Theatre are game-changers!

Here's why:

🌟Improvisation (Improv) 🌟

Breaks down barriers: Improv gets people out of their heads and into the moment. It helps teams connect quickly, building trust and making them feel more comfortable to open up.

Boosts creativity: In a world of rigid structures, improv lets people think on their feet and come up with creative solutions to real-world issues like bias and exclusion.

Fosters empathy: Playing different roles and perspectives helps participants step into others’ shoes, broadening their understanding of the challenges others face.

Sparks confidence: It’s all about jumping in, making mistakes, and growing from them. Improv boosts confidence in speaking up, making decisions, and taking action!

🌟 Forum Theatre 🌟

Turns theory into action: Forum Theatre lets participants act out scenarios of racism, bias, and discrimination, allowing them to practice real responses and shift behaviors in a safe space.

Empowers change: Participants aren’t just passive observers, they actively change the outcome of a scene, finding solutions to address oppression in real-time.

Promotes deep reflection: By creating and observing scenes, participants gain insight into their own behaviors and unconscious biases, helping them identify areas for growth.

Builds stronger allies: Forum Theatre encourages participants to speak up and intervene when they witness injustice, turning them into confident allies who take action.

🌟 Why It Works? 🌟

Both Improv and Forum Theatre are interactive and immersive.

They turn DEI learning into hands-on experience, so that awareness leads to action. No more sitting back and listening : this is about doing!
